How To Recognize Common Pregnancy Symptoms
The body definitely has a way of telling people when something is going on; pregnancy symptoms are one way in which it does this. A woman may notice that she feels like throwing up sometimes, is feeling exhausted easily, or is all of a sudden feeling the strange urge to eat foods she normally pays no attention to. While they may be attributed to other conditions, these signs, especially when experienced together can be nature?s way of telling a woman that she is about to be a mother.
A missed or late period is the sign most people automatically think of when they think of pregnancy. Women who are regular and notice that they are late for their period may wish to take a home pregnancy test. There are a number of other health issues that may arise which can also cause menstrual irregularities, because of this it is wise to visit the doctor to know for sure.
Reports of pregnant women going on midnight quests for some specific type of food, are no joke. Cravings are a reality, and they affect many expectant moms. Some of these are thought to be caused by a bodily need for a certain nutrient, which may be true, but it doesn?t offer any explanation for the junk food cravings that so many women experience.
The digestive system is is very sensitive to hormones in a number of ways. First there is nausea, many women find this unpleasant feeling creeping up on them at some point. It may be triggered by a particular smell, a taste, or for no apparent reason, but just comes with the territory. The lower digestive tract is also affected, with more gas and less bowel action resulting in constipation.
A lot of women may notice that their noses are continually either runny or stuffed up. This symptom is fairly common and is brought about by the effects of hormones on the delicate nasal tissues. Those who suffer from seasonal allergies may find their condition gets worse, and those who do not may find that they suddenly need to keep blowing their noses.
These are just a sampling of the many weird and wonderful pregnancy symptoms that hormones incite in the body. If several of these are experienced, it may be advisable to take a home pregnancy test or visit the doctor for a more accurate blood test to determine if one is actually expecting. It can also happen sometimes that a woman who is not really pregnant will experience these same feelings in the anticipation of being so.
